Catholic High School | Teachers’ Day Celebration

And this is the Teachers’ Day celebration. Enjoy!:)

Catholic High School | Teachers’ Day Tribute

I was commissioned to take some photographs for a Teachers’ Day tribute at Catholic High School. It’s actually a surprise by the parent support group to feature one of the Primary 1 class, and the aim was to capture candid and journalistic moments during one full school day.

Having done interior and architecture photography, and countless weddings all this while, I realized I’ve never done anything like this before. Not even children birthdays! I thought to myself “But if candid and journalistic photographs are what the clients are looking for, then I reckon it’s going to be (quite) similar to weddings!” Therefore I took up the assignment; but still felt tense the night before (couldn’t sleep obviously!) and kept repeating ‘try to document it like a wedding!’.

The next day, I arrived at the school with my camera gear and started to document the day. Ms Julie Low (the form teacher) assured me that the boys are very used to cameras and they are very very not camera shy as she always take pictures of them during class activities and excursions. That assured me and I went on playing along with the boys, capturing their most innocence and playful spirit!

The experience was exhilarating and it brought me back to those days in school.

Oh yes and I reckon I should start doing children related photography too! :p

Cheng Hwee + Eden | Wedding Day

Cheng Hwee and Eden knew each other whilst working at Panasonic, and it has been a good 6 years before they decided to tie the knot.

I remembered the first time I met them, and realized Eden certainly doesn’t look her age! When I saw her Mum on the wedding day, I knew it runs in the family.. haha!

Cheng Hwee is the kind of man who thinks that ‘nothing is a problem at all’, and always have a solution for everything. That, together with all his spontaneous brothers, made the gatecrashing awesome!

Oh and check out those uber-chic glasses :p

Liang Long + Christine | Wedding Day

I got to know this great couple from Xiang Bin and Jingyi. Currently based in London, Liang Long and Christine met during their school days in Judo CCA. It was a blast covering the gatecrashing with a (very) intensive workout for the guys who had to sandwich a kiwi between their arms, and climb up the staircase with each leg of the 2 guys tied up. For your information, Christine’s parents place is on the 10th floor!!

And of course there were food… Indian desert they got from Mustafa, and sauerkraut which smell and taste awful when you eat it (in huge quantity!) without sausages!

The evening banquet was held at Conrad Hotel, and Liang Long surprised Christine by playing Ballade pour Adeline on the piano. It has great sentimental value for the both of them as it’s the first song that Liang Long played for Christine. Words can’t explain how touched I felt; it was very very sweet.:)

*Liang Long and Christine, thank you for including me in your speech, which doesn’t happen very often:)You guys have been awesome. Here’s wishing both of you a great marriage life ahead!
