Kim Robinson

Although I did this commercial assignment more than a year ago, it was one of those interior shoot which left a deep impression in me. Not only it was done within 7 hours, I have to do it in the wee hours of the morning, when it’s the only time I’m allowed to take photographs in Ngee Ann City.

It’s the first time I met the Hong Kong-based Australian celebrity hairstylist Kim Robinson, and it’s a pleasure working with him to photograph his Asian flagship store which covers 465 sq m.

Work

53 weddings

19 commercial shoots

5 overseas trips….

All in ….. 32 weeks!!!!

That explains where I’ve been, and now I shall begin where I’ve stopped.

IKA/ Culinary Olympics 2008

Organised by the German Chefs Association, the IKA/ Culinary Olympics is the largest culinary exhibition in the world with one of the biggest international cooking contests.

Daniel Beh Photography is proud to support the Singapore National Culinary Team as they strive for victory in the international competition held in Germany this October. We are photographing the dishes to be used in magazines, websites, etc.

Our dear friend Ivan is the team coach, and he invited us for a fabulous dinner on 25th July held at Rosette Restaurant, SHA Villa. The 3-course meals were prepared by the 7 superstar chefs representing Singapore.

Got you hungry already?? Now for some simple photos I shot for them after the dinner

If you’re interested in the next dinner, it’ll be located at RSVP Park Hotel Orchard on 3rd September 2008. Please call RSVP to reserve : 6730 1568.

Interiors and Food – of lines and indulgence

I was commissioned to shoot these 2 projects during late-April to mid-May 2008 for a hotel group.. Situated at Wuxi and Kunming, China. Met very nice people for the whole shoot.

Without further ado, here are the photographs, enjoy!

Greetings from Wuxi, China

1 word.. HECTIC!

Shooting from 8am all the way non-stop until 8.30pm. Only break 2 hours for meals.

Shooting interior with 4 x 1000W tungsten hot-lights is no joke. Seriously we only churns out perhaps less than 20 unique images, but that’s the max we can go for 10 hours of shooting. Really very different from weddings. The setup of lights can take us near to 1 hour.

But of course we work hard and play hard. Food is luxurious. Needless to say, traveling with a Corporate Chef and an Executive Chef, you get to eat the best hotel stuffs they can think of, 20+ years of experience, I really salute them.

For those who’s reading this, don’t get me wrong, I’m not waiting for the food. It’s really very fun shooting together with them and the rest of the Chinese crews. Especially my IC for Wuxi, can’t wait to start next day. But meantime, my best friend is bathtub and beer
