Hi Daniel,

Yes, you’re right. Choosing the right photographer is very important.

The only problem is, you never know which is the REAL and RIGHT one! There are so many photographers who claim they do weddings but a good deal are only out to make quick cash.

My own wedding photos were almost ruined by this guy from “Big Day Studios”. Don’t want to name him…. I thought I had chosen the right one, after spending almost a month sifting through many photographers. I was wrong!

When my pictures came back, many important shots were out of focus, very underexposed, or had weird colour balance! In the end, I had to also painstakingly edit the images myself which took many painful months.

And guess what… He didn’t exactly come cheap. We paid him a few thousand dollars.

From the pictures I see, I have no doubt he only picked up photography not too long ago. It was a total scam to me.

I hope as a wedding photographer, you could also educate the community on taking this profession seriously.

For those who cannot take pics to save your life, please don’t!!! Be responsible!

Having personally worked with LYS at many weddings, and I feel that he’s a great guy and a dear friend to me. Perhaps you could also email or give him a call to see if he can help you in any way?

I believe that all of us who are in this business professionally have what it takes to be a ‘Wedding Photographer’.

Hi,

It’s over and I don’t wish to blow up the matter any more, nor do I wish to tarnish any reputation.

But I just wish potential clients will be careful when they select their own wedding photographers. How careful, I can’t advise. Cos I thot I was careful enough to get a good photographer but it turned otherwise.

Like I said, just looking at the pictures I got from my photographer, it’s not difficult to conclude that his technical knowledge in photography was lacking. At least back then. Cos the type of mistakes he made were basic, something which I wouldn’t make myself if I had merely 1-2 years of experience in photography.

I’m not saying he has a nasty personality. In fact, quite opposite, he’s friendly and reserved. But if a photographer has a nice personality but little technical knowledge, it’s also useless. I guess I was taken in by the friendly part and neglected to consider the technical part.

Anyway, I won’t want to dwell on this matter any more. My wedding album is chucked away in a corner already.

I just want to comment that as brides and grooms, we may not always get what we want. The only consolation I have is that at least my story is not as scary as some others who lost or have their images totally ruined by irresponsible photographers!

I wish you well in your career! Hope many more clients sign up with you.
